Selangor recorded the highest number of baby dumping cases in the first three months of 2026, Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Lim Hui Ying said.
According to Lim, the Social Welfare Department recorded 72 cases in 2025, while 18 cases were reported between January and March this year.
Selangor accounted for 10 of this year’s cases so far, whereas Sabah and Penang recorded two cases each. Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, and Sarawak, meanwhile, each recorded one case.
Lim added that all babies involved in cases handled by the Social Welfare Department are safe, and that the ministry will continue to tackle the issue through prevention, protection, and awareness programmes.

Syed Saddiq also proposed that Asean take diplomatic action against Norway for calling off the deal.
