Nurhaswani Afni Zorki, 42, had entered the stage at the state-level National Day celebration before running towards the ruler.

Magistrate Norizan Riduan ordered Nurhaswani Afni Zorki, 42, to serve a month in jail if she failed to pay the fine, Kosmo reported.
Nurhaswani was charged with committing the offence in front of the Ipoh Town Hall at Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab at 8.20am on Aug 31, 2025.
She was alleged to have entered the main stage from the side before running towards Sultan Nazrin while the state anthem was being played.
The charge was framed under Section 352 of the Penal Code, which provides for up to three months in prison, a maximum RM1,000 fine, or both, upon conviction.
During mitigation, her lawyer, Naran Singh, told the court Nurhaswani has applied to the sultan for a pardon.
Naran said Nurhaswani was divorced and previously worked as a waitress earning RM1,700 a month, but is now unemployed and being cared for by her children.
He also said this was her first offence and that she suffered from schizophrenia, and pointed out that she had already served 55 days in detention, including about a month undergoing psychiatric evaluation at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta. - FMT
