Defence Minister Khaled Nordin said the technical evaluation of a missile system to replace the naval strike missile (NSM) for the littoral combat ships (LCS) is expected to finish by the end of this month.
Bernama reported him saying that the Royal Malaysian Navy and the ministry are assessing several surface-to-surface missile systems from original equipment manufacturers in potential countries to replace the NSM system, which had its export licence revoked by Norway.

An LCS He said proposals and offers from the companies involved would be evaluated comprehensively based on the navy’s operational requirements.
“This includes several aspects, namely the system’s ability to be integrated with the LCS combat management system, the delivery timeline of the system, the total procurement cost, and finally the level of technology and operational capability that is comparable to or better than the NSM,” Khaled said during the Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat. - Mkini
