Bersama a spoiler that helped BN, Pua says after Harapan's drubbing
Apanama is back: Tony Pua, do not blame others. Look at the mirror. DAP had lost a lot of its voter base. It has nothing to do with Perikatan Nasional or Parti Bersama Malaysia.
People voted for Bersama because they needed an alternative when DAP and Pakatan Harapan hoodwinked them with their so-called promises.
Do not use vote splitting as your denial, and keep living in delusions.
Mkita: BN did not win big. It was Harapan that lost big. And guess who the actual cause of all this? The same guy who tried hard to gain one vote at the expense of losing two hardcore votes.
Yet you are still looking for excuses instead of addressing the real problem. Next is Negeri Sembilan.
If DAP wants to regain support, quit Madani now and change the current "yes-man" leadership. It is better to be a fearless lone tiger than a tame tiger whose only excuse is maintaining stability.
AnomanderRake: Harapan needs to realise that voters only voted for Bersama and "spoiled" its chances because the government has not done anything for the people who voted for it since coming to power at the federal level.
Blaming Umno for the lack of reforms and blaming Bersama for splitting the vote misses the point.
Harapan needs to look at itself and reassess its decision to bow to Umno just because one man wanted to become prime minister at all costs.
If the blame game stops and accountability is taken, maybe it won't be too late before the next general election, although I am not expecting any reforms or changes given how things have progressed since Harapan became the government.
Majority or not, blaming Umno is convenient when Harapan's leaders have shown no political will to fulfill the promises made.
ProMalaysia: Honestly, I don't understand Bersama leader Rafizi Ramli and his gang. What are they trying to achieve? You spent the best part of your youth fighting for PKR, building the party, became its deputy president and were appointed economy minister.
Likewise, Nik Nazmi Nik Mat became the natural resources and environmental sustainability minister. Both of you lost last year's PKR election, resigned as ministers when nobody demanded it, and then started sulking and turned your guns on the party. You formed the kancil party to try to destroy Harapan.
Compare your antics with former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, who has behaved far more respectably even after being sacked by Umno. What do you want? Stop behaving like spoilt children.
Veteran 1972: Have a modicum of self-respect, DAP. You betrayed the voters by collaborating with a known supporter of Hamas. Do pig farms ring a bell?
The demolition of a Hindu temple, claiming it as a victory for Islam, talking down to a young Indian student who was worried about her future, overseeing the conversion of a young Hindu, denying brilliant non-Muslim students access to tertiary education - do these ring a bell, Harapan?
After all his broken promises, you still want to lie in bed with a master betrayer and fibber? Do not wait to see whether you can win more seats in Negeri Sembilan. It will not happen.
Get out now and salvage your pride before you are tarred and feathered. There is no hope for you now. You will go the way of MCA and MIC. People who do not learn from history tend to repeat it.
Ipoh PP: Pua should look into what led to the formation of Bersama. It was one man's arrogance in trying to continue his family line.
He threw away the jewel he already had. That does not mean all the votes that went to Bersama would have gone to Harapan.
Come on. Don't look for excuses. I'm sure you can do better than this.
Pink: DAP, why did you let a mosquito party spoil your chances of winning? If you were strong, you wouldn’t be relying on 1,000 to 2,000 votes from a mosquito party.
As for the other constituencies, Umno would have won with or without PAS. BN won more votes than all the other parties put together.
BN won 600,000 more votes than Harapan and one million more votes than PAS.
No matter how you put it, Umno won outright. Negeri Sembilan is waiting to drub Harapan again because people no longer trust your party. - Mkini
