After a landslide victory in Johor, MCA president Wee Ka Siong urged his party’s elected representatives to remain humble and committed to serving the people.
The BN leader stressed that the people's faith in MCA should be returned in the form of dedication, hard work and meaningful performance.
“Let’s build a more prosperous and developed Johor together,” Wee said on Facebook.
The government will strengthen the role of the Malaysian Volunteer Corps Department (Rela) through various new skills training programmes, systematic disaster management, professional first aid training and a better understanding of digital security.
Deputy Home Minister Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said this is in line with Rela's important role as one of the country's security agencies and a strategic national asset in helping safeguard the nation's security.

Deputy Home Minister Shamsul Anuar Nasarah "As Rela marks its 54th anniversary, the security challenges we face have changed significantly and we are no longer dealing solely with physical threats or guerrillas in the jungle as we did in 1972.
"Today we face cyber threats, cross-border crimes, the spread of false information, community security issues and climate change that brings unforeseen disasters," Bernama reported him as saying. - Mkini
