Badrul Hisham Mohd takes over from Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir, who has retired.
PETALING JAYA:
The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) has appointed Badrul Hisham Mohd as its director-general, effective today.

He succeeds Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir, who has retired, Bernama reported.

In a statement today, MPOB said Badrul has nearly three decades of experience in the administrative and diplomatic service, having been involved in policy formulation, the development of the agricultural and plantation sectors, and strategic management across various ministries.

It said that under Badrul, MPOB will continue to strengthen its three strategic pillars in research and development, namely high income, value addition, and sustainable development.

According to Badrul, MPOB is now at a level of maturity that requires new approaches to ensure the national oil palm industry remains competitive in an increasingly challenging global landscape.

Previously, Badrul had served as the economy ministry’s deputy secretary-general (sectoral) since 2025.

He was also agriculture and food security ministry deputy secretary-general. He also served in the works ministry, and domestic trade and consumer affairs ministry. - FMT
