Rosmah Mansor has applied to the Court of Appeal to introduce fresh evidence in her appeal against her conviction in the RM1.25 billion solar hybrid project corruption case.
In an application dated July 21, the wife of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak sought to tender three additional documents, including a police report and statutory declaration by prosecution witness Rayyan Radzwill Abdullah.
Free Malaysia Today reported Rosmah claiming that Rayyan was pressured into giving incriminating evidence against her during the trial and is also seeking permission to recall him to give further testimony.
The application is scheduled to be heard on Sept 1. Rosmah has also sought a stay of her appeal hearing, which is set to run for 11 days between Sept 1 and Sept 30, pending the outcome of the application.

Indera Mahkota MP Saifuddin Abdullah renewed his call for Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail to address Parliament on the government’s policy towards Rohingya in Malaysia, the implementation of the National Security Council’s Directive No. 23, and its plans to address the issue lawfully, transparently, and with principle.
He said the public deserves clear answers following Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement that Myanmar had agreed to receive 5,000 Rohingya from Malaysia.

Saifuddin then asked whether Malaysia’s position towards Myanmar’s military junta had changed, given the country’s previous stance that the junta lacked legitimacy and had failed to implement the Asean Five-Point Consensus.
This is particularly on whether the government’s longstanding position that repatriation must be safe, voluntary, and dignified had changed.
Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari today said some locals are believed to be sheltering undocumented migrants, including Rohingya, complicating enforcement efforts.
He then urged the authorities to act against locals who collude with or exploit migrants seeking to remain in Malaysia.

Amirudin added that 9,515 Rohingya have been recorded living in Hulu Langat, based on checks with the District and Land Office.
Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung has urged the Housing and Local Government Ministry to work closely with animal welfare groups and NGOs, including those advocating the trap-neuter-vaccinate-return-manage approach, to develop a humane and sustainable solution for Malaysia’s stray animal management.
He said the alleged mistreatment and death of a dog named Rocky involving the Royal City Council of Klang personnel should not be treated as an isolated incident or addressed merely to calm public anger.
Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung Taking to Facebook, Lee said the case had highlighted longstanding weaknesses, including inconsistent enforcement, alleged mistreatment of stray animals, and inadequate welfare protections.
He warned that similar incidents would continue to occur if the government only investigated individual cases without establishing a transparent, standardised, and humane framework.
Meanwhile, Amirudin said the state government would continue taking action on stray dogs while ensuring enforcement is carried out humanely.
“We have been taking continuous action because, ultimately, the government must act in the public interest.
“The issue arises because of certain actions, but those actions must not be cruel or undermine compassion. Enforcement must be carried out with restraint, and that is the balance we need to strike,” he said on the sidelines of the Selangor state assembly sitting, Bernama reported.
He said the government had also taken note of Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin’s concern over animal welfare. - Mkini
Amirudin also rejected claims that local councils only acted after public pressure, saying that public safety related to stray animals had long been a state concern.
