No PN logo no problem if PH’s our opponent, says Sanusi

 The PAS and PN election director says their candidates will get more votes even if they contest under a slipper logo.

PAS has yet to discuss which logo the party will use for the upcoming Melaka state election following Perikatan Nasional’s suspension, says Sanusi Nor.

Sanusi, the election director for both PAS and PN, told FMT that the matter would be discussed when the PAS central working committee convenes soon.

The Kedah menteri besar nonetheless quipped that it would not be an issue if the PN logo could not be used in the Melaka polls if their main opponent was Pakatan Harapan.

“If we’re contesting against PH, even (candidates contesting under) a slipper logo would get more votes,” he jested.

The Registrar of Societies suspended PN yesterday, a day after giving the coalition 30 days to explain a complaint lodged by Bersatu.

The Melaka assembly was also dissolved on Wednesday, with its state assembly election to be held within 60 days.

PN secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan suggested that political pressure might be behind the suspension, while coalition partner Wawasan questioned the timing, citing the upcoming Melaka polls.

Both PN and PH are courting ruling state coalition Barisan Nasional for a pact in the state election.

BN and PN had formed an alliance for the Negeri Sembilan polls and secured a two-thirds majority. - FMT
