Wawasan election director Badrul Hisham Shaharin says the party is not interested in dwelling on past disputes.

Wawasan election director Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard, said the party welcomes everyone and is focusing on building its political strength.
The speculation arose after social media posts claimed that Hanifah, whom Bersatu fielded as its candidate for the Labu seat in the recent Negeri Sembilan state election, had met Wawasan president Hamzah Zainudin.
Badrul confirmed that the meeting took place and dismissed speculation that Hanifah had met Hamzah to disclose personal matters involving Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin and secretary-general Azmin Ali.
Despite Hanifah’s previous criticism of Hamzah, Badrul and the party, he said Hamzah was known for being open-minded and not holding personal grudges.
Badrul also said Wawasan was not interested in dwelling on past disputes.
“For us, it is about building strength for the future. We should not look only at the past. In pursuit of a bigger agenda, Wawasan must be inclusive and accept everyone as members,” he said.
“It is said that he (Hanifah) supposedly came to reveal Muhyiddin’s secrets, Azmin’s secrets and so on. But for us, such issues are not important,” he said.
FMT has reached out to Hanifah for comment.
Meanwhile, a Bersatu Supreme Council member, who declined to be named, said Hanifah had met Hamzah with the knowledge of several state leaders.
“He also informed Muhyiddin. He had informed us about the details of the discussion. And he told us he would remain with Bersatu and rejected Hamzah’s offer,” the leader said without elaborating further.
Hamzah formed Wawasan after he was expelled from Bersatu following a leadership tussle with Muhyiddin.
The party was formally accepted into PN last month over the objection of Bersatu, which questioned the process and legality of the decision. - FMT
