Former Baling MP Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim is expected to be charged at the Kuala Lumpur sessions court.

Based on the court e-filing system, Azeez, who is a former Baling MP, will be charged before judge Azura Alwi at 9am.
On Aug 27, the former TH chairman and a former Treasury secretary-general were remanded for seven days until Sept 2 to assist in investigations following revelations related to the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) on the pilgrims’ fund.
Both individuals are being investigated under Section 23(1) of the MACC Act 2009 for abuse of power.
The RCI, which investigated TH’s management, operations and assets from 2014 to 2020, found that losses from troubled investments had gone unrecorded and that “creative accounting” had been used to justify annual profit distributions.
The commission also traced TH’s financial problems to political interference in board appointments, unsustainable hibah payouts, and the national audit department’s decision to soften its findings over concerns about depositor confidence. - FMT
