PETALING JAYA:
The government is to discuss giving delivery riders a 50-litre increase in the monthly BUDI95 petrol quota to 250 litres, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said.

“I will bring it up for discussion at Tuesday’s meeting of the national economic action council,” he said at a meet-the-people gathering in Tebrau, Johor, Bernama reported.

Anwar said he mooted the suggestion himself after meeting and listening to delivery riders about the current quota limit.

The matter would be carefully reviewed to ensure the riders’ welfare as delivery riders receive the same monthly quota as other motorists. “I will remind Fahmi (communications minister Fahmi Fadzil), we will find a way to at least raise it by 50 litres, to 250 litres,” he said.

The BUDI95 quota of 200 litres a month is for RON95 petrol sold at the subsidised rate of RM1.99 per litre to Malaysians above the age of 18.

At the rally, Anwar announced an immediate allocation of RM1 million for pressing repairs at the Taman Desa Mutiara housing project. “If anything is broken, doors and such, we will repair them,” he said. He also instructed that non-functioning toilets at the Bukit Mutiara primary school be immediately repaired. - FMT
