Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh said he will pay a summons for riding a motorcycle without a helmet after Transport Minister Anthony Loke ordered enforcement during the Johor election campaign.
At the same time, Akmal (above) challenged Loke to introduce stricter laws on drunk drivers who cause fatal accidents.
“Hopefully, the minister will also act quickly in this matter just as quickly as he acted in the issue of (ordering) summons for not wearing a helmet.
“To all Felda villagers and residents, from now on, if you want to go to the surau even if the distance is close, make sure to wear a helmet, or the minister will summon you,” he said in a Facebook statement today.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim told those contesting in the Johor polls not to play on questions related to Najib Abdul Razak’s release from prison for votes.
During a campaign programme in Kulai, Anwar reminded politicians to prioritise public welfare and the national economy instead.

Najib Abdul Razak “Najib is now in prison, so leave him alone. If you ask me, enough is enough. But we are still paying the (1MDB) debt... and we have yet to finish paying it off," Bernama quoted Anwar as saying.
On July 6, Anwar claimed that the state election was held solely because there were parties that intended to return to power so they could free Najib.
