Johor regent: Excos must be dedicated in their work; Bersatu exit from PN imminent?

Johor state excos

  • Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has reminded all 10 newly sworn-in state exco members to carry out their duties with dedication, integrity, and sincerity, always prioritising the people's well-being and the state's progress.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Tunku Ismail said that every policy and decision made must be rooted in the people's interests and benefit Johor as a whole.

The regent also urged all exco members to remain grounded by regularly engaging with the community, ensuring that government services are delivered efficiently, effectively and with integrity.

The royal reminder follows the exco appointment and oath-taking ceremony at Balai Mengadap, Istana Bukit Serene earlier today, where 10 Johor assemblypersons took their oaths of office.

PN vs Bersatu

  • Perikatan Nasional information chief Annuar Musa today said Bersatu’s move to field at least eight candidates in Negeri Sembilan against the coalition, which it remains a component party, could result “by convention” in an automatic termination of its membership.

“However, this matter must be scrutinised according to the party’s (Bersatu) constitution,” he said in a Facebook post.

Annuar also said PN’s focus remains on the Negeri Sembilan polls.

“Bersatu’s participation (in the state election) is something that attempts to give an advantage to DAP and Harapan,” claimed Annuar.

  • Beluran MP Ronald Kiandee claimed Bersatu’s move to contest against PN is a clear sign that the party no longer has intentions to remain with the coalition.

The former Bersatu vice-president, now under a two-term suspension for supporting a team aligned with Larut MP Hamzah Zainudin that formed Parti Wawasan Negara, also urged PN to formally remove Bersatu as its component.

“The PN supreme council has strong grounds to remove Bersatu as a component party,” he said in a Facebook post.

Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin previously argued that his party’s decision to contest under its own logo was made after being allegedly sidelined in seat negotiations among other PN components.

KWAP losses

  • The MACC has launched an investigation into the RM200 million investment losses suffered by the Retirement Fund (Incorporated) (KWAP) involving Indonesia aquaculture start-up eFishery.

MACC chief commissioner Abd Halim Aman said a team was formed yesterday to comprehensively look into the matter.

Affirming that the investigation will be carried out transparently, he also urged the public against speculating on the case to avoid confusion.  - Mkini
