Police believe the Yamaha rider attempted to avoid the roadblock because his motorcycle was fitted with incomplete accessories.

Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Zamzuri Isa said the incident, which occurred at about 2.30am, involved a Yamaha Y15ZR and an SYM Maxsym 400.
Initial investigations found that the 21-year-old Yamaha rider made a U-turn and went against traffic after noticing a police roadblock about 50m ahead.
“This caused the motorcycle to collide head-on with the SYM Maxsym 400 ridden by the 47-year-old local man,” Zamzuri said in a statement.
He said the victim suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Kuala Lumpur Hospital, where he was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
Police believe the Yamaha rider had attempted to avoid the roadblock because his motorcycle was fitted with incomplete accessories. The motorcyclist tested negative for alcohol and drugs.
The rider has since been detained at the Dang Wangi police headquarters to assist in the investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. - FMT
