The Malaysians beat Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen 21-18, 21-19 in 40 minutes in their last 16 match.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin, who are ranked sixth in the world, beat the world No 15 pair 21-18, 21-19 in a last 16 match that lasted 40 minutes at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.
This was only the third time that the Malaysians, who were runners-up in Tokyo last year, have defeated Astrup-Rasmussen in their 12 encounters so far.
Sze Fei-Izzuddin are hunting for a third title this year having won the Indonesia Masters in January and the Indonesia Open last month.
Also in the quarter-finals are giant-killers Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing who defeated Taiwan’s Lee Jhe Huei-Yang Po Hsuan in the second round earlier.
Sze Fei-Izzuddin will face either Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard or Americans Chen Zhi Yi-Presley Smith in the quarter-finals on Friday. - FMT
