Woman dies, sister-in-law and son injured in highway crash

A video circulated on social media showed an overturned car after a late-night collision on the Kesas highway.

SHAH ALAM:

A woman driver died while her sister-in-law and her young son were injured after their car was hit by another car that went out of control on the Kesas highway near here at about 11.30pm last night.

Shah Alam police chief Sarudin Samah said the driver was a woman in her 20s. Her sister-in-law and a nine-year-old boy sustained head and facial injuries and are receiving treatment in hospital.

A video clip circulated on social media showed an overturned car on the highway, with social media users claiming that the collision involved a car driven by a man suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.

Sarudin said police are tracking down a suspect, believed to be a man in his 50s, to assist in the investigation.
