Johor PAS chief Mahfodz Mohamed says the outcome of the Johor election shows that voters have rejected Pakatan Harapan and DAP.

“The election results mean Hadi’s wish has been realised,” Johor PAS chief Mahfodz Mohamed said in a statement.
Prior to the state election, Hadi had said PAS was prepared to support BN in forming the Johor government if the coalition fell short of a simple majority, in order to preserve Malay-Muslim political power.
Mahfodz said the outcome of the polls also revealed that the majority of the people and voters in Johor have rejected Pakatan Harapan, especially DAP.
He said PAS accepted the outcome and congratulated BN and Johor BN chief Onn Hafiz Ghazi on the victory. Fellow Perikatan Nasional component Bersatu also congratulated BN and Onn Hafiz on their victory.
BN won 48 of the 56 seats contested, while PAS and its partners in PN failed to register a single win.
However, Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali said Bersatu had seen an increase in the number of votes cast in its favour. “We will work towards increasing our support base in the future,” he said in a statement. - FMT
