Dr Adham Baba’s tenure as health minister, at the start of the Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia, was marred by multiple slipups.

Adham secured a total of 15,931 votes, giving him a whopping 12,446-vote majority ahead of Pakatan Harapan’s Fakharuddin Moslim. Perikatan Nasional’s Yuhanita Yunan had also vied for the seat.
The seat has been held by Umno ever since it was created in 2004, and was won by the party with a convincing 4,888-vote majority in the 2022 Johor polls.
Adham, who served as health minister at the start of the Covid-19 outbreak in the country, previously served as Pasir Raja assemblyman from 2008 to 2018.
Umno opted to field him to contest the Tenggara parliamentary seat instead in 2018, which he won with a 5,933-vote majority. He was dropped in the 2022 general election.
His tenure as health minister was marred by multiple slipups, including advising Malaysians to drink warm water to curb Covid-19 and mistaking the Spanish flu with Spanish fly – a sex stimulant. - FMT
