A Johor teenager who was allegedly raped by nine army personnel have become pregnant, confirms Johor police chief Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd.
"The victim is confirmed to be nine weeks pregnant," he was quoted as saying by Harian Metro at the Johor police headquarters in Johor Bahru.
Khalil said the nine suspects, who were arrested on Friday, have been remanded until March 1.
The nine had allegedly raped the 17-year-old girl in Kluang last December.
The victim lodged a police report on Thursday.
Khalil said the suspects were aged between 19 and 24.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 375B for gang rape which carries a punishment of a minimum 10 years imprisonment and up to 30 years in jail.- Mkini
