WHEN YOU HAVE TO BEG NAJIB FOR MONEY, HOW CAN YOU SUSTAIN? NO NEED FOR AMANAH OR UMNO, PAS DOING A GREAT JOB KICKING THEMSELVES OUT OF KELANTAN GOVT – HUSAM

A Pakatan Harapan leader has rebutted PAS’ allegations that it is out to topple their Kelantan government, saying the Islamist party doesn’t need external help to that end.
Kelantan Harapan chairperson Husam Musa was reported by Sinar Harian as saying this is because of PAS’ alleged failure in running the state.
“I want to respond to deputy menteri besar Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, who says Amanah wants to topple the PAS’ Kelantan government.
“I have said it hundreds of times, Kelantan PAS does not need toppling, because it will fall by itself … with the problem of water not solved, with development that they want to slow down.
“If the PAS state government falls, it is natural, since the rakyat will reject it and it’s not the first time the PAS Kelantan government has fallen,” Husam Musa was reported as saying.
He was speaking at the launch of the Tanah Merah election machinery yesterday.
Also present at the event last night was Kelantan Harapan deputy chairperson Kamaruddin Mohd Nor, state Harapan election director Sazmi Miah and Tanah Merah Harapan chairperson Samsu Adabi Mamat.
On Wednesday Mohd Amar claimed Amanah was working with Kelantan Umno to topple the PAS state government, alleging the latter had agreed to provide the party with funds for its election machinery.
‘PAS misleading rakyat’
Husam meanwhile alleged the PAS state government was also misleading the people by claiming it had sufficient funds to run the state, when it had to “beg” money from Putrajaya.
“Don’t fool the people by saying the Kelantan government has enough funds because the budget deficit last year is only RM100 juta, which was paid by the federal government.
“If the money is given by the federal government, it means the state’s funds are insufficient.
“On the one hand, this matter need not be blown up because it is the federal government’s responsibility, but on the other, it means the state is admitting it has insufficient funds,” said Husam according to Sinar.
However the report did not elaborate on the matter.
Last November the New Straits Times reported the state government tabling its budget 2018 with a deficit of RM41.74 million, compared to a deficit of RM42.65 million in the previous budget.
The expected revenue was RM696.90 million next year against an expenditure estimated at RM738.64 million.
Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob said Kelantan’s budget 2018 allocates RM738.64 million for operating expenditure, an increase of RM59.01 million or 8.68 percent from the previous budget of RM679.63 million, comprising liability payments (RM25.53 million) and supply expenditure (RM713.11 million).
“The state government proposes an RM222.14 million allocation for development expenditure for 2018 through its revenue including RM90 million in loans,” he was reported as saying.
